Anna is a 14 year old girl attending a new private high school. She discovers that the students at her new school aren’t accepting of her or forgiving of her out of place remarks. After a comment she makes is misinterpreted by a girl in her class, Anna gets in trouble and is quickly labeled and ostracized by her peers. The following year, she tranfers to the nearby public high school with the hope that she will be able to make friends there. While initially, things start off in the right direction, this school doesn’t turn out to be much different. It seems that no one is able to truly understand Anna or her well-meaning intentions. On the verge of giving up, she decides to attend a university far from home for a chance to start over. It is here that she evolves and flourishes socially beyond what anyone had thought imaginable. However, despite her sudden social success, Anna develops an eating disorder from the pressure she faces to fit in.
