An Unforgettable Journey: From the Doors of a Church to the Security Gates of a Prison

Two years ago, I walked into my office and laid a paper on my computer with the words, An Unforgettable Journey. I was excited to start writing about this amazing spiritual journey with the Father that I longed to experience. I had spent months googling a picture of a passport for the cover of this book with every page stamped with all the places we would be traveling. I was certain at the time that I knew why the Lord had dropped those three words into my heart. I stepped back into my office later that day ready to put pen to paper confident that I now had the title to this book. I started to write the introduction page and pulled out a few scriptures I wanted to lead with. I soon found myself staring at the paper in front of me throughout most of the day until I realized this was not the journey the Lord was leading me on. In fact, it would be seven years of struggling to understand why He kept closing doors I wanted stayed open. I would later understand that He was directing my steps and controlling my circumstances to bring me the His final destination for my life. I would learn that every disappointment I experienced along the way was a His greater plan to bring me to a place that I would perfectly fit in.
