This is an inspirational collection of life lessons shared by an an actual housekeeper. When author Susan Crocker began cleaning houses, it was with the intent of making a living. She had no idea that her real gains would be far more than financial, and the gains were so great and the lessons so valuable that she was compelled to write them down and share them. This is not a book on how to clean your house- although there are a few cleaning tips included. As you read, you’ll begin to understand the journey Susan has taken and some of the lessons she’s learned. Her experiences are related in such a way that the lessons could apply to nearly anyone’s life. If the reader can glean even a little bit of helpful wisdom from reading these passages, then the author has fulfilled her purpose in writing this book. It’s meant to be a fast read, and the chapters are short and sweet for that reason. As a college-educated woman, the author thought she knew exactly where she was going 30 years ago. She had a plan. But her Plan A derailed, and she didn’t have a tangible Plan B. The plan she developed for herself has involved a lot of hard work that’s hard on her body. Cleaning houses became a life-changing and emotionally-enriching experience, and the wisdom she gained far exceeds anything that could be learned in any classroom. The author attributes much of her personal growth to her customers who have become like extended family. They’ve been there to listen and support her when she needed it, helped her to make important decisions, and strengthened her in times when she was sad. Susan has learned so much from her customers, and they inspired her to write this book.Susan believes every event in her life has shaped her, and this includes both the good and bad experiences. Without taking her journey as a housekeeper, she would have missed out on so much personal growth. She’s paying it forward by passing along these life lessons.About the authorSusan Crocker is a full-time housekeeper who enjoys helping folks of all ages. A native of Alabama who moved to Ohio in the 90’s, she’s a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.A. in Studio Art. Susan is returning to her creative roots with plans for more writing and some artistic endeavors to include greeting cards and original artwork. She and her husband both enjoy playing the drums, hiking, and boating on Lake Erie. This is her first book.
