Eleven-year-old Poxey Jane Payne is a pretty brown girl growing up on the west side of Detroit. She is probably a lot like someone you may know. She is a big sister, a great friend, and her parent’s oldest daughter. She is the girl next door, the funny kid in class, and your favorite cousin.
