Everyone has secrets that they haven’t shared. On top of those secrets many more of us have a few skeletons in our closets that we’d prefer to keep hidden. However, a truth that I have come to know is what happens in the dark really does come to light, eventually. Karma is real and that bitch don’t play fair. The Beauty of Scars is a story of a young woman navigating through life full of hurt and pain masked with a beautiful smile and bright brown eyes. She married what she thought was the man of her dreams only to end up divorced and alone years later. She went on to date another man whose charm and charisma she later learned was only a mask for the type of man he truly was. She suffered years of depression, self-doubt, and even suffered from suicidal thoughts. Shonice didn’t know how to be strong until being strong was all she had left. From personal trauma, mental and physical abuse, even self-hate, Shonice used that strength to overcome her issues and inspire others to do the same. Pain after pain and hurt after hurt she is still striving to become a better woman, mom and future wife. She hopes that this book will help young girls and women to press on and WIN!
