Gun Notes: Research on Guns

This contains contains 9 scholarly articles about guns, complete with footnotes and explanatory graphics. Each article is based on primary research consisting of data either published by law-enforcement and medical organizations, or national surveys conducted by the author.Michael R. Weisser holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and has taught at CCNY, University of California, University of South Carolina and Columbia University. He has published academic monographs with the University of Chicago Press and Basic Books. The studies in this book cover important issues in the gun debate, including how we measure gun violence, the validity of published data used by researchers in the field and whether our understanding of gun violence aligns with the data that is used to support current research. The book gives readers an opportunity to understand the major issues in this field, as well as how different scholars discuss both their research and the research of others.
