This Fall is not going well for Alice!

Psychotherapist Alice Brenner thinks her life is going well until her best friend, Lucy, dumps a clumsy, out-of-control Great Dane on her and her most exasperating patient, Janet, gets herself killed in the town’s park. Janet’s mother, a social and financial force in their small town, accuses Alice of being incompetent and causing her daughter’s death. At work, some want to kick her out of the private practice as a bad influence. Meanwhile someone is trying to kill her. The police aren’t helping. They think she killed Janet!

Alice is trying to clear herself with the help of a handsome private investigator originally hired by Janet’s mother. Lucy, Alice’s dog, and a homeless schizophrenic man are there to help as well. She examines her therapy with Janet looking for clues to what happened to the troubled woman. Alice doubts her professional skills and her ability to find the real killer. Even so, she finds herself becoming attracted to the private investigator. The attacks against her escalate. Will she be able to solve the mystery of Janet’s death before she is arrested or the killer murders her as well?
