They were raised there, married and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They wanted to join the Saints in Utah.

This book is based on the Diary/Journal that William wrote about the ten year journey they took from Canada to Utah, filled with death and sickness as well as some happy times. They then spent the rest of their lives in Utah raising their children.

The book includes Family Group Records, Descendant Charts, Heraldry of the Mackintoshes and family stories about each of their children. Also included is a Bibliography and Index. The numerous sources used to confirm the contents of William's Diary/Journal are also included.
