Creativity is the theme connecting the many chapters of the author's life journey, with over 300 drawings, paintings and photographs illustrating the story. Inspired by her daughter's request to introduce her to the artist she was before becoming a mother, this intimate memoir includes her growing up in a leftist immigrant Jewish family in the fifties, her education and training as an artist, studies in Germany in 1958, and a year of drawing and painting in Europe in 1962. The cultural climate of the sixties significantly changed the course of her life and work. After the birth of her daughter, she began a spiritual practice that included time in India. She eventually embraced Buddhist Vipassana meditation. Included is her training as an art and body therapist and the transition into becoming a psychotherapist. She maintains a private practice as a somatic psychotherapist in San Rafael, California and continues to draw and paint during hiking adventures in high mountain wilderness areas.
