The correspondence of Anne Gilchrist and Walt Whitman presents the texts of more than sixty letters from this remarkable correspondence which lasted from 1871 to Gilchrist’s death in 1885. This volume contains some rare insights into Whitman’s psychology. The volume also contains Gilchrist’s A Woman’s Estimate of Walt Whitman and her A Confession of Faith.
