The present volume includes the Arabic and Judaeo-Arabic fragments of the New Series in the Cambridge Genizah Collections and is a continuation of the volume dealing with the Arabic Old Series compiled by Colin Baker and Meira Polliack and published by Cambridge in 2001. The majority of the manuscripts were written in the classical Genizah period (10th-13th centuries) and cover a wide range of subject matters. These include Bible translations and commentaries, translations and commentaries on Mishnah and Talmud, Jewish legal works, homilies, philosophical treatises, medicine, astronomy, astrology, calendrical treatises, magic, historical works, folk-tales and legends, and rhymed prose and poetry.
