Reading the New Testament is a revision and expansion of my earlier work, The New Testament A Taster, with supplementary material used in courses at my college Laidlaw College. It is a general introduction that orientates students to New Testament in their first biblical course with the same name as the book. It covers such things as how the NT was formed, basic exegetical and hermeneutical principles, the Jewish and Greco-Roman background to the NT, and then covers the various parts of the NT: The Gospels and Acts, Paul's Letters, Hebrews, the General Epistles, and Revelation. This shorter analysis of the NT sits alongside my three-volume Discovering the New Testament with Lexham (2018-22).
