Hydrological and Limnological Aspects of Lake Monitoring

With all EC countries receiving the EC Directive on Water Quality, there is a greater need to improve the quality of measurements, both in chemical and biological fields. This volume discusses methods of sampling, analytical determination and data interpretation of lake water in relation to the current legislation and guidelines. Topics covered include essential limnology such as lake stratification, eutrophication, hazards associated with blue/green algae, acidification and liming.
