This study aims to bridge the gap between basic principles of vibrational spectroscopy by covering its practical aspects. The book emphasizes structure-property relations on surfaces and interfaces. Normal vibrations, adsorption of hydrocarbons or metals and metal oxides, polymers on surfaces, techniques, banding, new materials, adhesion and surfaces of catalysts are among the subjects discussed.
