A Life in Leadership: From D-Day to Ground Zero, An Autobiography

In 2001, he was appointed as Chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, which was charged with the task of rebuilding Ground Zero. The book provides a first-hand account of the difficult decisions the LMDC has made in meeting its goals of re-developing lower Manhattan and honoring the victims of 9/11. In the book, the author offers his thoughts on the importance of quiet leadership and of the social and political developments that have shaped this nation over the last 60 years. He demonstrates how it is still possible to do well by doing good - by adhering to the highest ethical standards in business, government, and philanthropy.
