One of the forgotten Morse lines is that of Peter Morss/Morse, who was born in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts - but then moved to Connecticut where he fought in the Revolutionary War. His sons and daughters moved west to Ohio and then to Illinois in Mercer County where they became farmers and miners in the nearby lead mines. The author's uncle, Donald Eugene Morse, came from this family and his son Vern Morse has spent years investigating the family, adding pictures and photos of them. With the help of the author, they have been able to locate the roots of their Morse line; in Newbury, Essex Co, MA whose bay (Anne's Bay) and historic homes are pictured on the covers. Browse the index of 15 generations of this unusual, resourceful, and adventurous man. His restlessness and pioneer spirit led to many more generations of Morse family in the Midwest.
