Lifetime Deal

Jack and David have negotiated to sell the company they’ve worked ten years to build. Jack is elated at the $9 million offer an investment group has proposed, but David can only find fault. As they try to decide on what they’re going to do, Jack challenges David on his over-commitment to his business. When David defensively answers that he’s invested his life here, Jack agrees: you’ve invested your life; I’ve invested my time. Jack leaves, pleading with David to consider the offer. After Jack is gone, David calls his wife and unexpectedly tells her that the deal fell through, and that he’s planning to buy Jack out. The topics are: work and workaholism.
