This book brings the events and themes of Easter into the rest of the year. In the Christian tradition, we make much of the Christ-child and Christ crucified but are much more reticent about Christ risen, in spite of the fact that it’s the risen life we’re supposed to be sharing most of the time. We go through Lent and Holy Week with great seriousness but Easter gets one great day and then we’re not sure what to do with it.
