This is the story of four Beaumont families from four different areas of France which, until now, have been generally regarded as one family. Whilst the book does contain a great deal of genealogical information, it is also a record of an extraordinary group of crusaders and campaigners. Members of the various Beaumont families have fought in the Crusades, in the Hundred Years' War, throughout the Wars of the Roses, in the English Civil War, in the Boer War, in the two World Wars and in Korea. They have fought on land and sea and in the air. Others have fought for their chosen causes in Parliament, in local government and in civil society. This Second Edition results from the interest shown by a number of members and descendants of Yorkshire Beaumont families who have been able to provide more or better information about some of the members of each of the branches.
