Keith Iveson has written a very interesting and amusing book about his career from National Service to Regular Warrant Officer Class 1 in The Life Guards. Starting in the early fifties to his eventual departure from the Army in the late seventies, it portrays his service life in Windsor, Egypt, Germany, Northern Ireland and London. He has a remarkable recall of the many soldiers and officers he knew, helped perhaps by his being a Regimental Clerk throughout his time in the Army. His descriptions of some of his colleagues will bring back many happy recollections to those who read this book and he certainly jolted my memory on many of the people we served with together. Keith's book is an excellent historical record of life in The Life Guards from the fifties onwards both for the Regiment and for his family and I strongly recommend it. Sir Simon Cooper, GCVO
