La poesia di Giorgio Pannunzio si nutre di un sontuoso modernismo ritmico non riconducibile facilmente ad esempi coevi e non e lontana da certe soluzioni metaforiche espressioniste e visionarie; tuttavia in essa non mancano tratteggi piu tradizionali e legati a modelli contenutistici veterodecadenti. Accanto a pregevoli versi d'estrazione ermetica, ve ne sono altri profondamente intrisi di pessimismo e di struggente nostalgia, che costruiscono atmosfere oniriche e dolenti non aliene - negli esiti - da certa poesia rimontante al realismo fantastico d'ascendenza pavesiana.
