El libro de Juan Timoneda, publicado en Tolosa en 1635, sigue siendo misterioso y podemos considerarlo una gran joya de la literatura espanola, puesto que es el primer libro a nivel mundial que describe ampliamente el juego de las damas. A pesar de que data de 1635, los que saben algo de literatura espanola descubren inmediatamente que Juan de Timoneda no estaba vivo en 1635, y que comenzo a publicar en Valencia en el ano 1547.
