Unerwartet begegnete ihr die grosse Liebe. Allerdings konnte er sich nicht entschliessen, sein tristes Leben zu andern. Ihm fehlte der Mut und er uberliess sie ihrem Schicksal. Unertraglich schien ihre Trauer. Sie war in einer Sackgasse gelandet, aus der sie keinen Ausweg fand. Die Dunkelheit und Kalte nahm ihr die Luft zum Atmen. In dieser Zeit begann sie, Gedichte zu schreiben.
