Sydney Cardew is a young poet and visual artist from the Isle of Wight, a small island off the south coast of England. Her poetry deals primarily with themes of nature, transience and her experiences as a transgender woman living in an isolated rural mileu. The Transit of Venus is her first collection of self-published poetry, collected in honour of Trans Day of Visibility, 2020.
