Two Sides to Every Murder
by Danielle Valentine

by Angela Crocombe, Jun 2024

An abandoned summer camp called Camp Lost Lake is the setting for this spooky murder mystery. The teen camp was abandoned because 15 years prior to when this story begins there were three murders there, supposedly committed by a woman whose husband was having an affair. She shot her husband and son, as well as a woman who videoed the murders, with a bow and arrow before disappearing. But the video footage was never found.

In the current day, Reagan has only just discovered that her mum was the alleged murderer and this is why they have moved towns so often. Olivia’s mum gave birth to her in the parking lot of the camp the same night the murders happened. When she discovers her father is not her biological parent, she wants to discover who her real father is. Both girls have reason to investigate the murders and when they meet at Camp Lost Lake sparks fly, not only because they are on the run from someone who is using a bow and arrow to murder again, but also because they look identical. Working out how they are related and who is the shooter forms the basis of this heart-pounding thriller that twists and turns at a rapid-fire pace, alternating between Reagan and Olivia’s point of view. Thriller lovers aged 12+ will devour this unique murder mystery.
