The book is in memory of our father, Robert Arthur Stanley, who was murdered June 1, 2001.

The story covers the case from the beginning of his murder to the end, at the sentencing of the persons involved. The story also takes in the process involved with the case, and the family's agony during the years it took to resolve the murder.

There is a meeting of the person involved in the murder through a circle meeting of both the murderer's family and the Stanley family.

Alberta Conflict Transformation Society (Restorative Justice System) headed the meeting, where not only the families were present but two coordinators from ACTS (Susan Hopgood and Caroline Bissett). In the circle meeting were the two detectives who worked on the case, bringing it to a close in the end.

The story also outlines the court process and the trial. The Restorative Justice summary and how the process works is mentioned. My story will show how life started to change me in a better way to resolve conflict personally. If there is a way to give life a chance rather than incarceration, we must look to the alternative.
