SLOW LOVE is a tribute to the power and endurance of both human love and our love for dogs, and the love that they return. It is a multigenerational story of a young woman, Hollie. She is a children’s book illustrator with a much-loved dog. She falls in love with an older man and his dog, and they face many challenges getting to the point where they marry. They are very careful and patient, and it is indeed slow love that brings them to having a baby and a wonderful, if short, life together, including a rich relationship with her husband’s daughter, who is only slightly younger than Hollie. Her husband dies tragically. She clings to his memory, but eventually falls in love with a widower, an author, and they carve out a rich life watched over by their late mates. Love never dies is the theme of the book, and it never does for Mollie or the wolf couple whose moving story she explores, and they write it into a book to end the story.
What one well known Canadian author, Katherine Govier, said about Slow Love: Good people, good dogs, and lasting love. What more can you ask
