When John and Brenda Fetterly respond to an invitation to visit Russkaya, a Soviet weather station in Antarctica, they do not expect to be embarking on an adventure of discovery that will lead them to Aqua Eden, the ancient and unfriendly sea world of Mermaids and Mermen. The Merpeople technology transports them all to the middle of the Caribean Sea and lands them next to another hidden colony of Merpeople who are looking for a sunken space ship left behind by their ancestors. Just when the Merpeople think they have finally discovered a way back home they have to turn to the humans for help. But centuries of arrogance, doubt and mistrust hamper cooperation along the way. This dying civilization will need to set aside their ancient distaste of humans to be assisted in getting out of the deadly predicament they suddenly find themselves in. Working together sets the Merpeople and the humans on a one way trip to the Merpeople’s home planet, which was abandoned 10,000 years ago. Will John and Brenda have the courage, openness and trust they will need to make the sacrifices and face the challenges that lie ahead of them?
