Layamon’s Brut vol II text (lines 8021-end)

Layamon’s Brut is a landmark in English literature, the first major work in English after the Norman Conquest, and the precursor of a rich Arthurian literature, from Malory to Tennyson and on to our own time. This edition is the first fully annotated version of the entire Brut together with full ‘facing-page’ translation. It provides literary scholars with an easily readable text, and students with an en-face translation to facilitate the study of this key medieval poem. The text is presented in the same parallel text format as Layamon’s Arthur, and is accompanied by an introduction, textual notes and commentary.
