Developing Literacy is designed for the New Zealand classroom in any area where reading with understanding and writing to communicate ideas is valued. We appreciate that the teacher of English is often responsible for students' literacy but this textbook can be used in any classroom where students are given the opportunity to work on their personal literacy skills. It could also be used at home for personal study.
