Human Sexuality

Human Sexuality, a full-color text, may be used as a primary text for a human sexuality course or as an extension of Glencoe Health. This program deals with self-esteem and healthy decision making. Some topics included are understanding emotions, communication skills, understanding sexuality, dealing with peer pressure, developing refusal skills, and recognizing how and where to get help. It presents factual information and encourages students to apply this information in making responsible decisions while reinforcing the choice of abstinence and underscoring the importance of avoiding all drugs, including alcohol. Facts and myths surrounding HIV/AIDS are also discussed. This program explains how the immune system is affected, how the virus is spread, how it is not spread, and the importance of abstinence. This module is also available in Spanish.
