In 1994 MTV held a series of unplugged performances by the number one bands at the time, and Nirvana’s was unarguably the best. “MTV Unplugged In New York”, brings out the true beauty and ingenious song writing abilities of Nirvana and Cobain. The entire set is a live, acoustic performance, with a variety of both Nirvana songs and renditions of covers. The whole album flows magnificently and contains many highlights and standout tracks. This album is very un-Nirvana like as it contains no instrument smashing and no distortion.
