Love Your Bookshop Day is happening across Australia on Saturday 10 August. This day is all about celebrating and loving your local bookshops and to celebrate, we’re holding a very special and utterly madcap competition for primary-school aged kids.

This Love Your Bookshop Day, we want to see your dream bookshop drawings!

Why? Andy Griffths and Terry Denton are looking for inspiration for a suitably fun and imaginative treehouse bookshop to include as one of the levels in their next Treehouse book. And your child’s drawing could be the one they use.

So get your pens, pencils and most creative ideas and get designing!

You can collect entry forms at your local

When:

Once you’ve drawn up your design, fill in the entry form and attach it to your drawing, and return it to your local Readings shop by Thursday 8 August. Winners for each Readings store (except Readings Carlton) will be revealed in ceremonies on Love Your Bookshop Day, Saturday 10 August 2019.

Who:

The competition is open to primary school-aged children only. Only winners will be notified.

What do I win?

Branch winners will each win a $30 Readings voucher. An overall winner, selected by Andy and Terry, will receive an additional $50 Readings voucher.

Images of the winning designs will be republished on Readings’ social media and website using the winning child’s first name and age.

And…the overall winner’s bookshop design will be used in part or whole for the next Treehouse book!
