The shortlist for the 2015 Indie Awards have been announced! The Indie Awards are voted for by independent booksellers from around the country.
The shortlisted titles for 2015 include:
Fiction Award Shortlist:
- When the Night Comes by Favel Parrett
- Amnesia by Peter Carey
- Golden Boys by Sonya Hartnett
- The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
Non-fiction Award Shortlist:
- This House of Grief: The Story of a Murder Trial by Helen Garner
- The Bush: Travels in the Heart of Australia by Don Watson
- Where Song Began: Australia’s Birds and How They Changed the World by Tim Low
- Cadence by Emma Ayres
Debut Fiction Award Shortlist:
- Lost & Found by Brooke Davis
- Foreign Soil by Maxine Beneba Clark
- The Strays by Emily Bitto
- After Darkness by Christine Piper
Children’s Award Shortlist:
- The 52-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton
- Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey
- Withering-By-Sea: A Stella Montgomery Intrigue by Judith Rossell
- Laurinda by Alice Pung
As well as category winners, all sixteen shortlisted titles are vying for the top spot as the Indie ‘Book of the Year’ for 2015. All winners will be announced on Wednesday 25 March.
