The Indie Awards Shortlist for 2014
The shortlist for the 2014 Indie Awards have been announced!
As well as category winners, all sixteen shortlisted titles are vying for the top spot as the Indie ‘Book of the Year’ for 2014. The Indie Awards are voted for by independent booksellers from around the country.
The shortlisted titles for 2014 include:
Fiction Award Shortlist:
- Barracuda by Christos Tsiolkas
- Coal Creek by Alex Miller
- Eyrie by Tim Winton
- The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan
Non-fiction Award Shortlist:
- Girt by David Hunt
- Murder in Mississippi by John Safran
- The Stalking of Julia Gillard by Kerry-Anne Walsh
- The Good Life by Hugh Mackay
Debut Fiction Award Shortlist:
- Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
- Mr Wigg by Inga Simpson
- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
- The Night Guest by Fiona McFarlane
Children’s Award Shortlist:
- Alphabetical Sydney by Hilary Bell, Antonia Presenti
- Kissed by the Moon by Alison Lester
- The 39-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton
- Weirdo by Anh Do
The category winners and the overall ‘Book of the Year’ winner will be announced in Sydney on Wednesday, 26 March 2014 at an awards ceremony. Past overall winners include The Light Between Oceans by M.L.Stedman, The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do, Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey, Breath by Tim Winton and All That I Am by Anna Funder.
