The Davitt Awards shortlist 2024
Sisters in Crime has announced the shortlists for the 2024 Davitt Awards for the best crime books by Australian women! Here are the shortlisted titles in each category:
Adult crime novels

- The Tea Ladies by Amanda Hampson
- The Half Brother by Christine Keighery
- Prima Facie by Suzie Miller
- Exquisite Corpse by Marija Peričić
- The Fall Between by Darcy Tindale
- When One of Us Hurts by Monica Vuu
Nonfiction crime books
- Reclaim: Understanding Complex Trauma and Those Who Abuse by Ahona Guha
- The Schoolgirl, Her Teacher and His Wife by Rebecca Hazel
- Ghosts of the Orphanage by Christine Kenneally
- Obsession by Nicole Madigan
Young adult crime novels
- Eleanor Jones Is Not a Murderer by Amy Doak
- Some Shall Break by Ellie Marney
Children’s crime novels
- The Wolves of Greycoat Hall by Lucinda Gifford
- Copycat by Kelli Anne Hawkins
- The First Summer of Callie McGee by A.L. Tait
- This Camp Is Doomed: A Dennith Grange Misadventure by Anna Zobel
Winners of the four category awards, along with an award for best debut and a readers’ choice award, will be announced early September.
Last year’s winners included All That’s Left Unsaid by Tracey Lien, Seven Days by Fleur Ferris, The Sugarcane Kids and the Red-bottomed Boat by Charlie Archbold, Out of the Ashes by Megan Norris, Dirt Town by Hayley Scrivenor, and The Unbelieved by Vikki Petraitis.
