Unsuprisingly there were a few new entries on our bestsellers list this month as many exciting releases graced our shelves in November. Coming straight in at number one was Question 7 by Booker Prize-winning author Richard Flanagan. Combining memoir and history Question 7 is about the choices we make about love and the chain reaction that follows, but it is also so much more. Read it and see for your yourself – this distinctive work could well be Flanagan's finest yet.

Other first-timers to our bestsellers were Bright Shining by Julia Baird, a beautiful and timely exploration of that most mysterious but necessary of human qualities: grace; Corners of Melbourne by Melbourne's favourite historian Robyn Annear which takes us on an unorthodox tour of the city's streets and corners; Good Material by Dolly Alderton a sharply funny, beautifully observed and exquisitely relatable story of heartbreak and friendship, and how to survive both; Women & Children by Tony Birch, a powerful and personal novel about the love and courage between two sisters, and a sudden loss of childhood innocence; and for those who enjoyed Before the Coffee Gets Gold (a regular in our bestsellers), and love books, there's Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-reum (translated from Korean by Shanna Tan) which is a heart-warming story about finding comfort and acceptance in your life – and the healing power of books.

There really are too many noteworthy books to mention but cast your eye over the above list for some wonderful ideas for festive gift-giving and also check out our Summer Reading Guide offerings here.
