Last week we announced J.C. Jones’ novel for 9+, Run, Pip, Run, as the winner of this year’s Readings Children’s Book Prize! And we’re delighted to see it’s our number one seller for the past week.

You can read our judges’ report of this brilliant book from a new Australian voice here, and you can read a Q&A with Jones herself here.

(We’re equally delighted to see so many of our customers snapping up our specially-priced pack of all six books on this year’s shortlist. This offer is only available online.)

Other bestselling children’s books of last week include Jeannie Baker’s gorgeous picture book Circle, the film tie-in edition of Roald Dahl’s The BFG (the film arrived in Australian cinemas this week, hooray), and two hilarious reads from Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton: The 65-Storey Treehouse, The Treehouse Fun Book – which is co-written with Jill Griffiths as well.

Speaking of treehouses… We’re all getting very excited for the forthcoming release of a brand new Treehouse adventure! You’re all invited to join us for the launch on Tuesday 9 August at 5pm. Find event details here.
