Kobi Yamada’s uplifting picture book Maybe is a lovely entry into our list, as is Sara Pennypacker’s intuitive and sensitive middle grade novel Here in the Real World. And Anh Do continues to appeal to young readers, with the fifth instalment in his Ninja Kid series, Ninja Clones).
