Great board books for babies are always in high demand. And babies love vibrant, fun read-alouds that have lots of elements to engage with such as flaps, die-cuts and touch and feel. Here are some beautiful board books published recently that we are loving selling in the shops.
Our Birds and Our Bugs by Bronwyn Bancroft
One of our favourite Australian First Nations author-illustrators, Bronwyn Bancroft has created many beautiful picture books. Her most recent publications are two delightful little board books featuring native Australian birds and bugs. With simple text and stunning illustrations, these are the perfect introduction to some magnificent Australian creatures. Ages 0-4.
Jazzy in the Jungle by Lucy Cousins
We love Lucy Cousins and her vibrant colours and cute animals. Her latest book features Jazzy the lemur and Mama JoJo. It has liftable flaps and die-cut windows on every page that are so much fun for little hands to explore. Ages 0-4.
Bugblock by Christopher Franceschelli
The block board books are sturdy and chunky, with flaps and di-cut pages. Featuring the charming art of British design team Peski Studio, they are packed with images and info on their given topic. The latest one is all about the many different types of bugs and what makes them incredible. It’s gorgeous! Ages 0-4.
I’m Not Scary! By Rod Campbell
The author of the classic book, Dear Zoo, has a sweet touch and feel story about a range of mini-beasts. It features a scratchy-scratchy grasshopper, a shiny beetle and a slimy snail. With plenty of flaps and touch and feel on every page, this is going to be very popular with tactile little ones. Ages 0-4.
Knock Knock, Who’s There? by Rob Hodgson
Little ones are going to love this first introduction to knock, knock jokes that includes reveals to funny surprises and a googly-eyed animal on every page. On the final reveal, there is even a very surprising dinosaur! This is a hilarious, very cute board book for ages 0-4.
