January was a busy month, with lots of young people looking for books to read over the school holidays and redeeming gift vouchers they received over the Christmas period.
Our top selling title was the fourth book in the comic graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey about a cat teacher and a classroom of frogs who love to draw comics. Not only is it hilarious and fun, there is also plenty of inspiration in this series for aspiring comic book artists.
It was exciting to see more than half of our January bestsellers were Australian titles, with our bestselling Australian title being the debut picture book by artist Alice Oehr – a stunning introduction to the vivid variety of fresh produce you might find at your local food market.
Five young adult titles made this month's top twenty, with the debut novel by Australian author, Ann Liang, making it into the top ten. Look out for her second novel, also a delightful romantic comedy, available in store on February 14; her debut has been a recent favourite amongst our Teen Advisory Board members.
