10 international authors appearing at Melbourne Writers Festival 2015

As well as a host of amazing local authors, there are so many wonderful international authors visiting our city for the Melbourne Writers Festival this year! (You can find the full program here).

Here are ten internationals we can’t wait to see.


Naomi Klein

Naomi Klein is an award-winning journalist, syndicated columnist and author of such groundbreaking books as The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, and This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate.

Louis de Bernières

Louis de Bernières is best known as the author of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Novel in 1994. His most recent novel is The Dust That Falls from Dreams.

Sarah Waters

Sarah Waters is a Welsh novelist. She is best known for her novels set in Victorian society and featuring lesbian protagonists, such as Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith. Her most recent novel, The Paying Guests, was shortlisted for this year’s Bailey’s Women’s Prize For Fiction.

Rob Thomas

Rob Thomas is an author, producer, and screenwriter, best known as the creator of the critically acclaimed television series Veronica Mars and co-creator of 90210, Party Down and iZombie.

Sarai Walker

Sarai Walker is an American writer and editor. Dietland is her first novel.

Will Self is a British author, journalist, political commentator and television personality. His work has been translated into 22 languages. His most recent novel is Shark.
