The 143-Storey Treehouse
Andy Griffiths,Terry Denton
Andy and Terry’s treehouse now has 13 new storeys, including a word-o-matic (it knows every word in the whole world!); a recycling depot; a wrecking ball; a complaining room; a spooky graveyard (where it’s always midnight, even in the middle of the day); a toffee apple orchard guarded by a kind scarecrow; and a camping ground where you can have a nice, relaxing camping holiday-unless you get caught by hobyahs, put in a bag and poked with a stick, that is …
Well, what are you waiting for? Come on up!

When Andy’s crankiness gets too much, and Terry suggests a nice relaxing camping holiday, Andy begrudgingly agrees that it might be nice to visit the new camping level of the treehouse. Unfortunately, their publisher Mr Bignose finds out and he insists Andy and Terry use their holiday to finish their latest Treehouse book, while also demanding they pose for pictures and answer questions for Go Away magazine. But that’s not the most ‘unrelaxing’ thing about Andy’s relaxing holiday. The most ‘unrelaxing’ thing is … Terry did all the packing!
The 143-Storey Treehouse is full of camping staples such as fishing for big old sentient boots and (not-so) spooky campfire ghost stories. Terry’s detailed and hilarious illustrations means even kids who can’t read can fully enjoy the Treehouse series. I cannot express how much joy I get both from reading this series and watching kids read them. Excellent literature for all kids ages 5+.
