Join us to hear Fiona McFarlane in conversation with Nam Le.
Fiona McFarlane’s The Sun Walks Down is set in the Flinders Ranges in 1883, where we are introduced to the town of Fairly as the community searches for missing 6-year-old Denny Wallace who became lost in the middle of a dust storm. Here, Fiona has woven an incredible story of an outback colonial Australian town and all its characters amidst the search for the lost child – featuring newlyweds, landowners, farmers, mothers, artists, Indigenous trackers, cameleers, children, school teaches, widows, maids and policeman – and their relationship to the landscape and the unsettling history of the Flinders Ranges.
