Musician and artist Ben Schneider first conceived of Lord Huron as a solo project after his move to LA (the name is taken from Lake Huron in Michigan, where Ben spent time as a child). The band was formed after he enlisted the help of Mark Barry (percussion, vocals), Miguel Briseno (bass, percussion), Brett Farkas (guitar, vocals) and Tom Renaud (guitar, vocals), creating a sound not unlike Midlake or Fleet Foxes.
