Four Seattle high-school students are finishing up their studies, excited at what the future holds. Peter is set to go to California to play basketball, Anita is moving onto an Ivy League school, Eliza can’t wait to just get the hell out and Andy, well, he really has no idea what he is going to do. But all plans are off when each one looks up into the sky and sees the strange blue star shining down. It doesn’t look like it’s moving, but it is and experts say it’s heading straight for earth. Is this the end of the world or will life be saved by a near miss? Everyone handles the impending doom differently. Some will move to secluded houses to wait out the hysteria, while others take the opportunity to gain whatever they can, however they can before the end. One thing is for certain, no one knows what is going to happen.

We All Looked Up was a captivating read, however, I felt it was slightly too long. That said, this is a worthwhile read which gets you thinking about how you might fill your last days on earth. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
