The Three Bears (Sort of) by Yvonne Morrison & Donovan Bixley
A cheeky child questioning the validity of the story of The Three Bears makes for a fun read. When the adult in The Three Bears (Sort Of) tries to read this old nursery tale aloud, a precocious audience calls to account the so-called ‘facts’ of the story: ‘Hang on a minute. Are you telling me that three bowls of porridge poured at exactly the same time can be too hot, too cold and just right? How does that work?’
You get the picture. This makes for a refreshing take on this much-loved story, but do we really want to look so closely at the accuracy of a fairytale? Well, when it’s this amusing, why not?
For ages 3 and up.
