Tchaikovsky: The Seasons, Grigorian Brothers

It seemed like the GrigoryanBrothers hadn’trecorded classical music forquite a while, so when thisrecording came across mydesk I was pleased andcurious to see how these pieces, written forpiano, would work in a guitar duo setting. Ineedn’t have worried. From the openingnotes you are drawn into the music and inno time at all you’ve forgotten that these arearrangements of piano pieces. They havebeen skilfully arranged by Edward Grigoryan, the father of Slava and Leonard, whoseis a very fine musician in his own right. Theplaying of the brothers is of course of thehighest quality, and you would expectnothing less from these talented musicians. If you’ve never heard these works before thenthis is a great place to start.
