Brahms: A German Requiem, Tahu Rhodes
Brahm’s German Requiem is one of the great works in the field of classical choral music. Over the years there have been many great recordings and this new recording from ABC Classics will definitely will not suffer in comparison to other recordings. This is a beautifully recorded CD and all the performers from the conductor Johannes Fritzsch, the two soloists Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Nicole Car and the MSO are excellent. But for this reviewer the real stars are the MSO Chorus who, under the direction of chorus master Jonathan Grieves-Smith, do justice to the brilliance of Brahms composition with exemplary singing from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
