[[sun_kil_2]]This is the fifth piece from California-based singer/songwriter Mark Kozelek under the Sun Kil Moon moniker.

Among The Leaves retains many elements of its impressive predecessor Admiral Fell Promises with its gentle pace, reflective lyrics and its beautiful (nylon) acoustic guitar work, which is reminiscent of that of Nick Drake’s.

What differs in this album is that Kozelek has sprinkled some (rather incongruous) biting and humorous tracks into the mix, such as ‘The Moderately Talented Yet Attractive Young Woman vs. the Exceptionally Talented Yet Not So Attractive Middle Aged Man’, ‘Not Much Rhymes With Everything’s Awesome At All Times’ and ‘UK Blues’.

An intimate and engaging album to immerse yourself in this winter.
